About Us

A story of timber, resilience and tradition

A business crafted by a family, grown through adversity, and strengthened by innovation.

 1962 – Humble Beginnings

Founded by Brian Ashton in Winkie, South Australia, as Upper Murray Case Supplies—initially building timber bins and crates to help local citrus growers.

1998 – A New Generation

Brian’s son, Mick Ashton, takes the helm, reinvigorating the business with continued dedication and a vision for growth.

2000 – Expanding Horizons

Operations move to a larger facility in Glossop to meet ISPM15 export standards. New branches open in Adelaide, Mount Gambier, and joint ventures begin in Mildura and Griffith.

2012–2013 – Rising from the Ashes

A catastrophic fire destroyed the Glossop site in January 2012. But by mid 2013, a modernised, more efficient factory rises in its place.

2016 – United as One

Multiple divisions unite under Ashborn Industries, a name symbolising rebirth and family legacy. The Banksia seedling logo reflects strength and resilience after fire.
